If you live in a warm enough climate, where the temperatures don’t go below about 50 degrees F. during the
year, you are probably already doing some tropical landscaping, because the tropical plants are normal where you live, and they are
probably popping up like weeds, attaching themselves to the trees and fences in your yard. Tropical plants have a lush and elegant look to
them, and many have bright colors and odd shaped blossoms and leaves, making them some of the most unique and interesting plants of all for
landscaping. The trick is that they are native to climates where they get plenty of rain and warm weather, and they don’t live well in cold
and dark climates, so many people are unable to do much with them.
But if you know a few tricks, you can sometimes overcome the obstacles to having some tropical landscaping, and
here are some ideas to help you out.
You can always have a green house. You can make these from kits that you can buy over the internet, and they
will ship to you ready to set up, the way you set up a camping tent. They are well made and high tech, and come in a range of sizes,
shapes, and prices. You just need to provide a source of heat, which might be available in the form of sunlight if you are not in a place
that gets too dark or cold.
You can also have indoor tropical landscaping, which may seem a bit far from the traditional definition of
landscape, but you might have sun room in your house, or a big bay window with lots of light coming in during the day, and these can
be ideal places to grow your plants. Because tropical plants tend to like the same range of temperature that humans like, indoors is
usually a great spot for growing this kind of plant. They also add clean air quality, and look great and help to cheer up a house. You will
need to make sure they have enough light, and if you don’t have enough natural sun light, you can use growing lights, which are
special bulbs or tubes made to provide the kind of light that tropicals like orchids thrive on, in an indoor setting.
